Honda Foundation - Funding Policy

The Honda Foundation will only provide financial assistance to Australian bodies who are approved by the commissioner of Taxation to accept tax deductible donations of $2.00 or more, with funding remaining in Australia. In particular, The Honda Foundation provides financial assistance to:

Deserving charities; Approved bodies who focus their activities on the disadvantaged, disabled or those suffering from long-term, life threatening illnesses.
Approved humanitarian bodies.
Approved bodies who provide ad-hoc relief to victims of natural disasters.
Approved bodies who promote inventions and the development of new technology.
Approved bodies who promote the development and preservation of Australian culture.

Donations are made on the basis that they are to pay for material items or something tangible. Some of the pieces of equipment we have financed are as follows:

Wheelchairs for use in hospitals and nursing homes.
Hospital beds, portable hoist and other medical equipment, including operating theatre machinery.
Ambulance/SES resuscitation machines, defibrillators and rescue equipment.
Purchase of equipment for use in scientific research units.
Sensory garden installation for handicapped people.
Purchase of resource kits for disabled children.
Furnish accommodation units for cancer patients.
Purchase computer equipment for running special needs programs.
